My NDA has expired as of January 17 with Sony Entertainment and I can now talk about the 5 most important updates coming to the Sony Mocopi trackers!
Wow, I can't believe I can say I got to work with Sony.
1st is probably the biggest news and what I have been busy with tinkering with and that’s SlimeVR linkage.
This allows an External device connection to SlimeVR to send data to a SteamVR running PC for pose estimation without using conventional mocopi pose inference. Basically, in non-nerd talk, you can now use Slime VR software to link them to pc and kick people in VR easier
This is gonna be great because most of the people who watch this channel probably want to do just that. And I do have a full video showing you how to set it up. It’s actually pretty easy.
2nd is Upper-body focus mode, which Primarily tracks movements of your upper body which is great if you want more points of tracking for Vtubing or motion capture purposes.
3rd is Load Avaturn avatar, Avaturn is an app that lets you make avatars from a selfie
And now Avaturn avatars can be selected and used in the avatar selection screen which will be great if you are new and want to make an avatar to play with that’s not this weird anime chick, now you can be a 22-year Chad,
4th is Rename and save the file at the end of the motion recording, meaning Motion file names can be changed from the current automatic naming before the motion is saved. Which seemed like a simple thing to have from the beginning, to be honest. But if you are like me your file is probably named files weird already like aaaaaaaimpotaint file or dcadaeaasdadw 2 for most part so it doesn't matter.
5th is the Lock function for avatar screen operations so if you are bringing your avatar into real life using the app and you happen to bump the phone, it doesn't look like your avatar is starting to warp or do weird shit. Instead, it will be locked onto a specific point in the scene. Making it overall more usable and more likely for people to use it
