Beat Saber founder on Quest 3 controller tracking: "It's good, don't worry"

The Meta Quest 3 Touch Plus controllers have caused some uncertainty about their accuracy since they don't have the tracking rings that were present in the original 2016 Oculus Touch controllers.

However, Meta's Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Bosworth, recently confirmed in an Instagram Q&A session that the new controllers' tracking method is highly effective.

The Touch Plus controllers use infrared LEDs that can't be seen by the naked eye but can be detected by the headset's cameras.

The Constellation tracking system's hand tracking and computer vision combine to create a hand model and accurately track the controllers' movements.

Additionally, co-founder of Beat Games, Jaroslav Beck, assures that the Touch Plus controllers are precise.

Furthermore, the simultaneous tracking of hands and controllers on the Meta Quest 3 represents a significant improvement in hand tracking when compared to the Meta Quest 2.
